You don’t need to buy it – rent it from our curated collection. When you need more than the generous amenities included in the venue rental, you can easily shop our catalog of items available for rent, eliminating the need to purchase or work with multiple vendors.

Venue Pricing

Just the Venue

The 228 offers fair and predictable pricing based on the timeframe you choose for your event and the number of guests you expect. Our pricing is the same every day of the year.

When you book an event, your event is the only one on the property during your reserved time.

Prices are based on number of expected guests with a flat 18% gratuity added.

4-Hour Events

We offer two shorter event timeframes on Saturdays. You can choose to have your four-hour event within the 11 am – 3 pm window, or the 5 pm – 9 pm window. Your event is the only one during your timeframe. There may be another event on the same day.

Price is determined by your guest headcount: 0-50, 50-70,  70-92 plus additional items or services plus gratuity.

Weddings and 5-Hour Events

Weddings and other longer and multi-phase events with more planning assistance over a longer period of time, more setup, and cleanup time, and more staffing.

When you book a Wedding or 5-hour event, your event is the only event at the venue on that day.

Price is determined by your guest headcount: 0-50, 50-80, 80-120 plus additional items or services plus gratuity.

  • Chairs and spool table around the firepit
  • The picnic tables under the pavilion
  • The Edison bulb string lights under the pavilion
  • The buffet serving tables in the barn
  • In-house speaker system for DJ use in the barn, the patio, and the field
  • (2) Two moveable bar stations–one in the barn, one on the patio (conditions apply)
  • 4’ & 6’ tables set where needed
  • The custom-made rolling cake cart for use in the barn
  • The (2) two large metal tables on the patio
  • (1) one hour to set up before your event
  • Non-alcoholic drink station-(3) three jars-you bring the drinks, ice & cups and our staff will keep them filled
  • Accessory small wooden tables as needed
  • Charming decor-updated seasonally
  • Louvered or bi-fold accent doors to hold seating assignments, photos, etc.
  • Heat & A/C as needed
  • Ceiling fans
  • Men’s, ladies’ & family/handicapped-accessible restrooms
  • Prep kitchen for caterer’s use
  • Wheelchair-accessible ramp into the barn and flat grounds
  • Real sliding cross-buck entry doors
  • Positioning any 228 rental items for your event where specified
  • Disposing of plastic or paper dishes, disposable silverware, napkins, and any unwanted small décor items during and after your event
  • Packing up all items you, the client, brought to the event
  • Loading vehicles at the conclusion of your event
  • Cleaning the barn and grounds after your event
  • and is available should you or your guests have need of anything during your scheduled event time
  • One hour of rehearsal time
  • Two hours set up time before your wedding
  • Use of one of our outdoor ceremony sites plus your choice of seating from one of our providers
  • A ceremony “Plan B” in case of poor weather supported by The 228 staff

When you book the venue, we’ll guide you through the process of creating your event. Our portal for customers who have booked a date for an event provides checklists and schedules to make sure the planning for your event is on track. And throughout the process, we are available for advice on choosing vendors and staying within your budget.

On the day of the event, we’ll make sure the decorating gets done, and that all of your guests are comfortable. And after the event, we’ll pack up the leftovers and any decorating items that you brought in and pack them in your vehicle.
